Stress Management Courses & Therapies
Stress can affect our emotions, our body and how we behave, in lots of different ways. Sometimes when we are stressed, we might be able to tell right away. But sometimes we might keep going without recognising the signs. I have listed the signals that your body and mind give you below so that you can look over them and see how many signals you have at the minute. Please remember that these are just signals to show you with a warning light on that your body and mind is malfunctioning, and keep that in mind when you read over the list.
You have came to this section on my website with positivity (yes you have! Big smile. lol) and acknowledgement that you may need to address some stress that you have at the moment. Take a moment to show yourself some self compassion for doing this – We all are a work in progress after all! This list should just give you clarity that yes, you have been stressed, and you are now going to work on a plan to help restore balance to yourself so that you can thrive and live your best life. You can reverse or change those affects with a stress management plan. Positivity comes from acknowledging you need to do something and then doing it. You need to take action to restore & rewire your body & mind with help from scientifically proven techniques & tools.
Signs of a dysregulated nervous system are:
Psychological symptoms: Mood swings, anxiety, stress, depression, anger, impatient, irritability. Like you have lost your sense of humour, Unable to enjoy yourself, constantly worrying or have feelings of dread, pick at or itch your skin, grind your teeth or clench your jaw, sexual problems, smoke, use recreational drugs or drink alcohol more than you usually would, restless like you can’t sit still, cry or feel tearful, spend or shop too much, Neglected or lonely and withdraw from people around you.
Physical symptoms: Difficulty breathing, headaches, panic attacks, sleep problems, weakened immune system, chronic pain, muscle tension, chest pains and high blood pressure, sore eyes, constipation or diarrhoea, fatigue, feeling sick, dizzy or faint, indigestion or heartburn, sweating, developing rashes or itchy skin, changes to menstrual cycle, sudden weight gain or weight loss and existing physical symptoms getting worse.
Cognitive symptoms: Memory problems, oversensitivity to stimuli, being easily overwhelmed, and difficulty concentrating. Like your thoughts are racing and you can’t switch off, find it hard to make decisions and existing mental health problems getting worse.

So where do you start with a stress management plan?
Step one is acknowledgment that you have stress that needs to be addressed. How you handle your situation, people or reason for your stress can all be managed without the situation changing through Mindfulness living and tools.
Step two is planning – the most important step of all is to start doing something to help yourself. Get your diary out and schedule nothing else, over yourself so you have free time. If 1-2-1 is difficult for you then I can arrange to video call or call you for your session for some therapies. If you want to work together with family or friends in a small group or share a lesson then let me know and I will arrange something suitable. Advance booking is necessary to ensure you have some free time after your appointment.
Each and every one of use is unique and going to be at different stages of stress or life situation, and I need to know where you are at right now in order to see how I can help you. You need to rewire your brain to actively deal with how you are right now, and to reset to become a less stressed you with a course of treatments, as it’s a life style choice with you in control. We are all pre-programmed human machines (you get the picture quicker when I use this term) and we cannot fight this. The damage that stress does to our bodies is massive and you need to work at restoring this damage. There are plenty of scientific studies who have researched the impact of stress on the body and please look these up if you keep getting stressed and don’t do anything about it. Research studies can show that living through Mindfulness can actually restore the damaged cells in your brain that have degenerated through stress.
Doing something to work on reducing stress works and just like you I suffered from stress and it took me ages to really deal with it, and I only did when my body started to crash too! Thoroughly understanding stress through my own life and my holistic work is the WHY in why I have come out with my stress management therapies and treatments. My way of looking at stress and dealing with it has changed and this is the most profound way to deal with it for more life enjoyment. We are all born wired for resilience and to thrive and you need to turn off your faulty stress alarm signal that has been on too long with tools and self-care. Your body and mind needs your help to over-ride your stress response switch. It’s that simple!
STRESS MANAGEMENT THERAPIES & COURSES
Level 1 Stress – You are recently stressed and just need to release tension and quiet your mind for restorative self-care to promote a good night’s rest. These are generally no talking therapies as you want to clear your mind and unwind.

2, Neal’s Yard Mindful Relaxation Facial – ideal for stress and restorative relaxation with shoulder face & scalp massage. (suitable for illness & cancer recovery also)
3, Any therapy on my services list – they are all self-care. (Please note that it takes approximately over 60 minutes of relaxation therapies to rebalance your body & mind. If you would prefer to choose your own therapy to restore your body back to feeling like yourself then a minimum of one therapy for three weeks is what you need for full vagus nerve reset. A one off treatment does not deal with stress that has been building up for some time. You can also commit to a regular self-care therapy of your choice every month until you feel more grounded and any stress negative affects are gone.
Some things that you can do right now for better health are to make sure you get outside and connect with nature, and enjoy a healthy amount of some sunshine. Drink enough water, eat real non – processed food, exercise your body regularly and do conscious mind-body body movement practices to restore any imbalances within the body. Choose a meditation practice that suits you to clear your mind, and ensure you get a good sleep health routine in place. True health is from a balanced all round approach.
Level 2 Stress – You have been stressed for a little while, you can feel the tension in the body, your mind is affected and your sleep quality is not great. You enjoyment in life is dimmed.

Sometimes you need to address a situation or others that are affecting your inner peace (Positive Change Workshops / Life Coach Session / Mindfulness / Mindset coaching). Remember you can always schedule a call with me to discuss your starting point. Mindfulness Meditation for beginners lesson– Meditation is awareness and can be anything where your mind is in ‘aware’ mode and free from distractions, such as watching the breath or listening to birds sing. If you are completely new to meditation practices these lessons teach you the different ways you can meditate for example: out walking or movement meditation, through guided meditations, mantra meditations or simply the traditional way. After each lesson you will be able to go home and work with what method suits you best to help you calm your body for restorative healing. Once you have introduced a meditation practice to your daily routine I will start on teaching you Mindfulness breathing meditations to help you with focused non judgemental awareness to allow you to navigate your day with more resilience and calm. Mindfulness Breathing Techniques lesson – Breath is one of the most used tools in meditation practices – and for a good reason. It’s always with you, but it’s not fixed in place, it flows on. And it follows the rhythms of life: it’s born, and it dies, and it’s born again. Your breath is your first go to tool to restore calm within your body and mind. Different breathing techniques can help you when you feel like you are in the middle of a crisis, and you need to actually stop and learn anxiety calming breathing exercises. Knowing about them is not the same as having a daily practice to nourish and replenish your body through your breath. Come and experience how this actually feels within your body at least once so you can use what works for you.
Anxiety Grounding Relaxation Techniques lesson – It’s all about feeling grounded restoring your body and mind to neutral before you proceed in life. You will sample different techniques and go home knowing how to work on restoring your body to neutral to switch on your rest and digest instruction to your brain. You are a human machine after all needing maintenance. If the idea of just learning breathing techniques is not for you then this is a good start.
Mindfulness Visualisation lesson – Dedicating time to learn this valuable and accessible anywhere tool is what we all should be doing. Imagination. – It is human nature to think negatively. We can naturally fall into a state or cycle of negative thinking much more easily than into a positive thought cycle. To think positively, we seem to need to put effort and intention into it. Whereas, to think negatively can seem almost comfortable to slip into at times. Just as we have a brain or mind to develop strategies and plan, we also have the power to imagine. It is how the mind conceives and creates, and this in itself forms an energy that can be motivating and positive or negative and draining. Therefore, using the imagination for positivity is key when practicing Mindfulness. Using it for negative imagining or worry is counterproductive. So the imagination can have a positive or negative impact on our psyche and general wellbeing. So it is very important to think positively in daily life. Your thoughts are tools that can support or wound you: use your thoughts, imaginings and words wisely.
Chi Gung lesson – is a holistic system of co ordinated body posture and movement, breathing and meditation. This Mind Body holistic therapy works on the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual levels in the body. (information on Body page). Follow up sessions required to develop a true understanding and develop your practice of this fantastic Mind-Body Therapy. I never go a day without incorporating this into my life, and it only takes me seconds now to tap into my own bodies healing power. Chi is your bodies software and you need to develop skills to ensure you stay healthy.
Mindfulness Course Sessions for Stress Management –
Mindfulness isn’t just a way to a pleasant, peaceful way of life; many people use it as a tool to manage their own stress, anxiety and depression. A Mindfulness practice can support any medical treatment already being used for some psychological conditions, and it’s important to seek professional help from professional sources first. This session’s focus is to teach practical exercises and guidelines to help bring Mindfulness into your daily life. To reduce your stress and anxiety you need to learn Mindfulness as this factor makes the difference by being present, aware and making a small space between the trigger and the reaction.
